Job description

MHI Brands is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant will support daily accounting operations, account reconciliations, e-commerce settlement processing, accounts receivable, and month-end closing activities from e-commerce and retail accounts. The position works closely with the Sales, E-Commerce, and Operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile e-commerce sales, deposits, fees, refunds, returns, and adjustments
  • Apply customer payments and research shortages, deductions, and chargebacks
  • Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and journal entries
  • Perform bank, credit-card, and general-ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation
  • Work with internal departments to resolve account discrepancies

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years in accounting, finance, or professional bookkeeping experience -
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, or payment processors
  • Good working experience of accounting principles and account reconciliation
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, especially Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and investigate discrepancies
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines
  • Experience with ecommerce retailers such as Amazon Seller Central, Amazon Vendor Central, and Walmart.
  • Sage 50 or similar accounting systems,retailer deductions, or marketplace settlements is preferred and highly advantageous.
