Job description

The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the Security and Loss Prevention Cluster Manager.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Actively monitor and report outcome for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
- Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
- Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
- Serve as department's liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert keeping site leadership informed on department's key issues, strategies and the performance.
- Identify, promote and implement security best practices while effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives, incident response planning, facilitating and management.
- Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud; Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments); Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
- This role covers 24/7 operations and must be able to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
A day in the life
As a SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area

You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events.
During your investigations, you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes to identify and drive mitigating measures.
You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and, jointly with subject matter experts and external suppliers, maintain their functionality. Furthermore, you identify and act upon initiatives improving our physical security infrastructure and contribute directly to the budgetary planning for our external suppliers

You interact on a daily basis with our external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience.
You will be working on multiple high-impact initiatives/projects by collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels to deliver measurable outcomes through effective project management.
Finally, you deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams across all management levels and manage the implementation of our S&LP plan.
