Job description

Warehouse Receiving Clerk

The Warehouse Receiving Clerk reports to the Warehouse Receiving Manager or their designee. This position is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all inbound shipments. The role ensures that inventory is processed efficiently, stored correctly, and entered the system to support smooth warehouse operations. Collaborate with the supervisor to track and prepare for expected deliveries. Sign and process all shipping documentation upon receipt. Coordinate with the Purchasing and Import Departments to resolve discrepancies related to POs and system entries. Verify invoices, obtain necessary signatures, and ensure proper processing for payment of satisfactory deliveries. Support additional warehouse operations as needed. Maintain a flexible schedule, including availability for overtime and weekend work.

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming merchandise for accuracy, quality, and damage.
  • Performs production work such as sorting, checking, and carrying heavy merchandise.
  • Assists in prioritizing incoming merchandise.
  • Monitors reports to ensure that all information is correct and updated as necessary.
  • Report necessary changes in pertaining to quantity, vintage time, merchandise size and proof, to Purchasing and Imports departments.
  • Send documentation to the Imports & Receiving departments for all bonded cargo.
  • Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels.
  • Tracking any packages from UPS, USPS, FedEx, Amazon.
  • Must be able to work simultaneously with the Warehouse Receiving Supervisor and Clerk at all instances.
  • Responsible for overseeing that all empty containers are reported in a timely manner.
  • Any other work assigned by management.
  • Assist with deliveries by photographing container seals and verifying shipment documentation.
  • Responsible for receiving all cartridges, tracking inventory, and assigning the corresponding purchase orders (POs).
  • Verify purchase orders, packing lists, and invoices for accuracy.
  • Record received inventory in the warehouse management system.
  • Label, sort, and organize goods into designated storage locations.
  • Communicate discrepancies, damaged items, or missing shipments to supervisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (as certified).
  • Assist with cycle counts and other inventory control tasks.
  • Collaborate with shipping, inventory, and procurement teams to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • 2–3 years of warehouse and forklift experience.
  • Forklift certification required; experience driving a Stock Picker required.
  • Previous RF Smart (barcode scanning) experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
