Responsibilities Essential Functions
  • Perform overall project management for capital improvement, tenant improvement, infrastructure, and real estate development projects across Purdue Research Foundation’s real estate portfolio, including the Discovery Park District (DPD) and Purdue Research Park West Lafayette (PRPWL).
  • Serve as an owner’s representative for Purdue Research Foundation as it relates to the development of the Purdue Research Parks (PRP).
  • Review and approve vendor and contractor invoices and maintain contract records, vendor documentation, and certificates of insurance.
  • Coordinate procurement activities including solicitation of bids, contractor selection, work coordination, invoicing, insurance compliance, inspections, and payment processing.
  • Collaborate with PRF’s Real Estate, Economic Development, and Facilities teams to support and implement strategic initiatives across the DPD, PRPWL, and the broader PRF real estate portfolio.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Coordinate PRF tenant improvement and build-out projects, serving as the primary point of contact for tenants, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Oversee the entitlement, design, permitting, construction, commissioning, and warranty phases of real estate development and infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure accountability for and review of project budgets, schedule, and operating budgets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and proactively manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impacts to project scope, budget, schedule, quality, and stakeholder objectives.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, status reports, and records within project management systems, while ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and coordination among PRF team members, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
  • Assist with long-range capital planning, project prioritization, and development implementation strategies across the PRF real estate portfolio.
  • Oversee the organization, maintenance, and retention of project documentation, digital records, and PRF project archives.
  • Maintain CAD drawings, as-built documentation, and project records to support facility operations, project planning, and future development activities.
  • Manage documentation concerning projects, facilities, and operations within the PRP.
  • Work collaboratively with PRF’s Real Estate, EDO, and Strategic Alliance teams to ensure success of projects and developments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Ability to manage and direct professional consultants, contractors, and maintain key community and stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal (public speaking and presentations) communication skills.
  • Must possess initiative, creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport and interact with various levels of professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience working with MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and direct sub-consultants and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to lift 10-25 lbs.
  • Periodic travel (<10%) to other markets as needed to assist with projects.

Required Education, Experience and Benefits Summary
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Fields of Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Land Planning, Construction Management strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in commercial real estate development, architecture, engineering, construction management, facilities management, or a related project delivery environment preferred (applicable internships may substitute for some experience).
  • Professional certification or licensure preferred, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer Intern (EI), Registered Architect (RA), Licensed Landscape Architect (LA), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), or similar credentials demonstrating expertise in project management, design, construction, and real estate development.
  • Experience managing and coordinating contracts, consultants, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
