Job description

Job Overview

Principal Network Engineer Manager, Information Workplace Services – P4 Raytheon Digital Technology. The role is based in Tucson, AZ and requires an active U.S. Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

The position is for an on‑site team that supports classified programs in Networking, High Performance Computing, and Storage & Data Protection.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced knowledge in support of software/firmware/hardware LAN/WAN components including routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco/Palo Alto).
  • Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize network system performance, proactively identifying and quickly resolving service‑impacting issues.
  • Review system vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with recognized industry standards and best practices.
  • Drive and/or participate in projects to install and improve voice, video, and network infrastructure.
  • Produce, update, and improve technical documentation to support security requirements and operational service of systems.
  • Propose and configure network solutions, meeting all communications requirements, optimizing cost savings and ensuring required uptime.
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis for short‑ and long‑range planning of network infrastructure.
  • Assist in coordination of third‑party maintenance and procurement for network equipment or vendors for third‑party support.
  • Mentor, train and share knowledge with technical teams.
  • Work outside normal business hours and travel approximately 30% of the time, as required.
What You Will Learn
  • Application of networking expertise to facility moves, new construction and classified programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry‑leading network products and design/architecture for all programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 6 years experience.
  • Active, transferable U.S. Secret clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.
  • Advanced knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, authentication servers.
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection systems and software upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Cisco ISE, Cisco Call Manager, NTP servers, General Dynamics GemOne, SolarWinds.
  • Experience with encryption devices, intrusion detection systems, classified computing, NIST, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
  • Project management, team leadership and personnel development experience.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with limited supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
  • Security+ certification within 6 months and CCNP level certification within a year.
  • Working knowledge of network security and infrastructure best practices.
  • Effective customer service skills, oral and written communication.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD, commensurate with experience.
