Network Development Engineer 2

Possible 3 Month Contract To Hire | No Fees | Confidential Submit Candidates Under Their Legal Name

Role: Network Development Engineer 2

Work Location: Seattle, WA

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of automation scripting experience using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl.
  • 8+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing distributed retail networking solutions utilizing L2 and L3 protocols.
  • Familiarity with white box networking platforms.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Design new network topologies, test them, and integrate them into existing automation frameworks.
  • Provide top-level escalation support for existing networks and installations.
  • Identify, develop, and deliver technical solutions that improve the availability of our wired networks.
  • Understand customer needs and create technical solutions leveraging wired networking technologies.
  • Identify and deliver solutions that reduce operational impact to customers and enable them with scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized solutions.
  • Dive deep into complex problems to identify root causes of customer impacts, developing and delivering corrective actions.
  • Evaluate new technologies, lab test/certify solutions, conduct proof of concepts, define run books, and lead pilot deployments.
  • Innovate and automate infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and life cycle management.
