Summary

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers basic nursing care to patients in various settings while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other medical professionals. Their responsibilities include providing skilled nursing care, educating patients, and coordinating care to ensure optimal health and well-being. The LPN's role is vital in promoting comfort and safety and enhancing the quality of life for clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver skilled nursing services as prescribed by the client’s healthcare provider within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Accurately document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and care coordination.
  • Educate clients and families on health conditions, self-care techniques, preventative measures, and address nursing needs.
  • Comply with all documentation requirements per company policy, and state and federal regulations.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication with relevant parties (e.g., physicians, family members, office staff).
  • Coordinate and acquire necessary client supplies, such as durable medical equipment (DME), wound care supplies, and medications.
  • Protect client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
