What is an Amazon Logistics Partner?

Amazon Logistics Partners are independent delivery service providers that work with Amazon to deliver packages to customers. These partners operate their own businesses, hiring and managing delivery drivers—often through the Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program—to fulfill last-mile deliveries. They are responsible for meeting Amazon’s high standards of customer service, safety, and on-time performance, while Amazon provides support, technology, and branded vehicles. This partnership helps Amazon scale its delivery network efficiently, especially during high-demand periods.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Amazon Logistics Partner?

To thrive as an Amazon Logistics Partner, you need strong business management skills, operational knowledge, and the ability to hire and lead a team, typically supported by prior entrepreneurial or logistics experience. Familiarity with route optimization software, delivery management systems, and Amazon’s proprietary logistics tools is essential. Leadership, problem-solving, and excellent communication are crucial soft skills for managing teams and ensuring customer satisfaction. These abilities are important to efficiently run delivery operations, meet performance metrics, and maintain high service standards in a competitive logistics environment.

What challenges do Amazon Logistics Partners encounter while managing delivery operations?

Amazon Logistics Partners often face challenges such as maintaining timely deliveries during peak order periods, managing driver schedules, and ensuring vehicle fleet compliance with safety standards. They must also adapt to rapidly changing routing technology and handle unexpected issues like traffic delays or last-minute customer requests. Strong organizational skills and proactive communication with Amazon support teams are key to overcoming these challenges and delivering a high-quality customer experience.

Job description

Reach Logistics, a Pattern company, is a global eCommerce logistics and strategy company that partners with some of the largest brands in the world to distribute their products on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and more. We have 7 warehouses in 5 countries around the globe and offer a unique distribution model to our partners. We currently ship 60M units a year and are growing rapidly. Currently the top seller on Amazon, we boast over 1,700 global employees that span over 18 global locations.

We are seeking an Area Manager for our Reverse Logistics department to lead a team and frontline warehouse operations at our Hebron, KY location. This individual will be driving consistent execution across processes with a focus on quality, recovery value, and brand stewardship. This role is exciting because you won’t just manage operations—you’ll build and optimize systems, influence recovery strategy, and directly impact financial performance across our warehouse network.

This is a full-time on-site role based in Hebron, KY.

Responsibilities
  • Lead frontline warehouse operations for the Reverse Logistics department, ensuring consistent, predictable process execution (quality and adherence over speed/throughput)
  • Directly manage 20–30 associates and a supervisor, including performance management, staffing coordination, and ensuring behavioral and process standards are upheld
  • Own adherence to operational standards including 5S implementation, labor planning, and process consistency
  • Serve as liaison and subject matter expert for Reverse Logistics-related processes across warehouse network
  • Manage and maintain operational tools and systems, including updating backend configurations, questionnaires, and workflows to improve associate efficiency
  • Oversee and collaborate with a network of downstream liquidation partners, ensuring proper inventory flow, recovery value optimization, and brand stewardship
  • Analyze recovery value, product disposition decisions, and process outcomes to balance financial impact with brand standards and operational efficiency
  • Build and improve reporting processes —getting hands-on with analytics and process design rather than relying solely on ticketing or external teams
  • Provide partial shift flexibility (salary role), including potential split schedule coverage to support future night shift operations.
Qualifications
  • Experience managing teams (ideally 20+ employees), with demonstrated success in frontline leadership within warehouse, manufacturing, or operations environments.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to evaluate processes, interpret data, and drive measurable process improvements with financial impact.
  • Experience building or improving tools, systems, or workflows—preferably with demonstrated math/science-based process optimization.
  • Exposure to data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, data visualization platforms); ability to work with backend systems and understand system architecture is preferred.
  • Background in supply chain, operations, industrial/operations engineering, manufacturing, or related technical disciplines (Purdue supply chain/operations programs noted as strong pipeline).
  • Demonstrated ability to walk into ambiguous or developing environments and “build” processes rather than operate within fully mature systems.
  • Comfort balancing operational execution with strategic thinking—particularly in reverse logistics, recovery value analysis, and liquidation networks.
  • Strong partnership and communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally and manage nuances across facilities and external partners.
  • Flexible- Embraces Change
  • Problem Solver
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, as well as Google Suite, Gmail
Physical Demands
  • Ability to walk or stand for 8-10 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs by hand
  • Pallet jack experience (electric or non-electric)
  • Pull, push, bend, kneel, crouch
  • OT required during peak season (25-30% of the time)
Benefits
  • Medical PPO and HSA with employer match plan options
  • Dental, Vision, STD, Supplemental Insurance plans
  • Company Paid LTD and Life Insurance
  • 401K match - Match 100% up to 3% and 50% from 3.1% - 5%
  • 4 weeks of PTO, accrued semi monthly
  • 8 company paid holidays
  • Paid bereavement
  • Stocked marketplace with late-night meal options
  • Product Giveaways
