Location: Piscataway, NJ (Onsite, Locals Preferred)
Duration: 12 months
Position type: W2 contract.

Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Java AWS Architect to lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will possess foundational AWS knowledge, strong Java expertise, and a forward-looking mindset to integrate AI tools and ensure comprehensive system design. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and architect scalable, secure solutions leveraging AWS services with a strong understanding of core concepts.
  • Visualize complete system architecture, considering upstream and downstream impacts across technical and business domains.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Incorporate AI tools such as Amazon Q and Copilot into the development process, aligning with Transamerica’s move towards AI-driven solutions.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end technical implementation, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Work independently with a proactive approach, driving solutions from conception through deployment.
  • Continually evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance architecture and solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Well-versed with AWS concepts, with basic hands-on experience in AWS services.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, including a solid understanding of design patterns and data structures.
  • Additional expertise in Dot Net and Python is highly desirable.
  • Ability to visualize entire systems holistically and understand the impact of design choices.
  • Knowledge of AI tools (Amazon Q, Copilot) and their application in real-world scenarios.
  • A proactive, aggressive mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • Experience in technical solutioning, including impact analysis across business and technical streams.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas and solutions effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or equivalent).
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with system integrations and enterprise application architecture.
