In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. Duties

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans, while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload products efficiently, ensuring that items are secured properly for transport.
  • Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing fuel consumption.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
  • Handle heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used to prevent injury.
  • Operate forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading goods in warehouse settings.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
  • Experience with route driving and familiarity with local roadways is advantageous.
  • Ability to operate both manual transmission vehicles and automatic vehicles effectively.
  • Strong physical stamina to handle heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and perform manual tasks throughout the day.
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
