Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks.
Join Amazon Leo's International Licensing and Compliance Legal Team and help shape the future of global satellite connectivity. You'll provide essential administrative support to our legal team as we navigate the complex landscape of satellite technology-work that directly impacts how communities worldwide access reliable internet.
Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate legal and administrative matters, including scheduling, document management, and correspondence
- Establish and maintain systems and processes that facilitate knowledge sharing and information organization across the legal team
- Prepare and maintain status reports and documentation that track project progress and legal initiatives
- Manage document workflows using legal document management systems and coordinate with cross-functional partners including engineering, business development, and external counsel
- Assist with budget tracking and financial administration related to legal operations
- Leverage technology tools and applications to enhance efficiency and accuracy in administrative workflows
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
As a Legal Assistant supporting Amazon Leo, you'll be at the center of our legal operations, working on initiatives that span international licensing and compliance. Your day might include coordinating with global attorneys on satellite regulatory matters, establishing systems that help our team share knowledge more effectively, preparing comprehensive status reports that track our progress, and using advanced tools to streamline administrative processes. You'll collaborate with colleagues across engineering, business development, and external counsel to ensure our legal team operates smoothly. Beyond routine administrative tasks, you'll contribute to solving legal challenges in this dynamic industry.
About the team
Our team navigates complex international regulations and licensing requirements that are constantly evolving. We're building something new, and we need a detail-oriented professional who can deal with ambiguity and help the team manage the administrative foundation that allows the legal work to succeed. You'll work alongside attorneys and compliance specialists who are passionate about solving challenges in satellite technology.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of professional or military experience
- 1+ years of administrative assistant experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- Background in a technology company or prior legal department experience
- Familiarity with legal terminology, document management systems, or compliance processes
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where processes are still being established

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
