Job description

Amazon Air is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Manager - Operations (AMM-Ops): an individual-contributor role in our Network Control Center (NCC) at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). You are the aircraft-maintenance subject-matter expert on the operations floor, working around the clock to keep the fleet moving safely.
Amazon Air flies through carrier partners who operate and maintain the aircraft. You are the technical bridge between those carriers' maintenance teams and our network operations

You monitor fleet health across the network, interpret maintenance events for their operational impact, coordinate disruption and AOG recovery, and give the NCC the technical picture it needs to protect on-time performance. Safety leads every assessment.
This role is built for someone who knows how an airline runs maintenance: MEL and CDL application, ETOPS and CAT III readiness, deferrals, line maintenance, and return-to-service timing. You will also work at the leading edge of where maintenance operations is heading, with AI-driven fleet-health analytics, predictive return-to-service models, and
leading-indicator tools that flag risk before it becomes a delay

We want a technician who helps sharpen these tools, not only one who runs them.
Key job responsibilities
- Monitor aircraft maintenance disruptions across the Amazon Air network in real time, and keep tracking systems accurate so stakeholders share one current picture of fleet status.
- Track airworthiness limitations and deferrals, including MEL, CDL, ETOPS, RVSM, CAT III, and Autoland status, and translate them into fleet-readiness and station-capability implications.
- Analyze maintenance events to determine network operational impact and recommend recovery actions that protect the schedule. Apply AI-driven analytics to estimate return-to-service timing and surface high-value actions.
- Partner with Amazon Air teams and carrier Maintenance Control leadership to coordinate maintenance responses and build repeatable, scalable recovery playbooks.
- Serve as the technical liaison between carrier Maintenance Control leadership and Amazon Air operations, clarifying technical detail so both sides share the same picture.
- Represent aircraft maintenance status on operational calls and cross-functional bridges, communicating current impacts, estimated recovery, and network risk under time pressure.
- Collaborate across Amazon Air and partner organizations to share best practices and improve end-to-end maintenance performance.
- Learn, evaluate, and adopt approved AI tools, and contribute frontline feedback that shapes the next generation of fleet-health and predictive tools.
- Work a defined, assigned shift within the team's around-the-clock network coverage; shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
A day in the life
As an Aircraft Maintenance Manager - Operations, you will work at the center of Amazon Air's 24/7 Network Control Center, monitoring fleet health and supporting maintenance decision-making across the global air network. During a typical shift, you may track aircraft limitations such as MEL or ETOPS impacts, coordinate with carrier Maintenance Control teams during an AOG event, analyze maintenance data to assess operational risk, and provide real-time updates to network stakeholders

You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to support safe, efficient aircraft operations while leveraging operational dashboards and AI-enabled tools to improve situational awareness and support data-informed decisions.
About the team
Amazon Air keeps packages moving by air so customers receive their orders on time. Our maintenance operations team is the technical nerve center that keeps the network's aircraft healthy, available, and safe to fly, and safety leads every decision we make. When a maintenance issue surfaces anywhere in the network, we catch it early, judge what it means for the operation, and coordinate the path back to service with the carrier partners who operate and maintain the fleet

We are moving maintenance from reactive to predictive, building AI-powered tools that surface fleet-health risks before they become delays.
