Spelman Logistics, Inc is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner. We deliver Amazon packages to customers throughout New Haven County, Hartford County, Middlesex County, and New London County.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Pay: Starting at $22.25 per hour (higher rates for experienced delivery drivers withcommercial experience)
  • Paid Time Off accrues on Day 1

  • 4 days Workweek for Full-time employees (10 Hr. day, 35-40 hours/week)

Hours:Usual hours of operation areSunday-Saturday, 10:50 am 8:30pm, with Delivery Associates Required to Staff and Support a 4-3 Schedule which means our driversMUST work 4-Days on & 3 Days off(non-negotiable),WITH ATLEAST ONE DAY ONTHEWEEKENDS.


Basic Delivery Driver Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must have at least 5 years of clean driver history (no at-fault accidents, moving violations)
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Possess a valid Driver's License in the State of residence and clean Driving Record (No suspensions, multiple accidents, no tickets)
  • Must consent and successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Be able to operate and navigate a delivery van, weighing 10,000 lbs. or less (you do not need to provide your own vehicle)
  • Must have good Englishspeaking, reading, writing/communication skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts around 10 hours
  • Use smartphone device for GPS Navigation, scanning packages, conducting administrative requirements such as clocking in/out, and communicating with supervisors and other team members
  • Successfully handle and deliver packages on time
  • Safely drive and perform safety inspections on company vehicle; follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies
  • Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction despite stressful events/conditions
  • Load and unload packages in the delivery vehicle
  • Keep pace in physically demanding job; work in all weather conditions; lift packages; get in and out of a van repeatedly throughout the day at variable locations
  • Support the team in daily work requirements including participation in rescue calls when other team members need assistance with their routes
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 50 pounds each (most packages will be under 15 pounds), with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Capable of entering and exiting a commercial van.
  • Capable of moving up and downstairs
  • Navigate a variety of routes throughout the delivery area.
  • Communicate effectively with the support team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure deliveries are completed
  • Complete Paid DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Training (CMV)
