Job description

Amazon Ads is looking for an experienced UX Manager to lead a team of UX Designers responsible for end-to-end advertising experiences across Amazon Devices - including Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Alexa, and Echo. This leader will own the design strategy for ad experiences that feel native to each device surface, respect the end-customer experience, deliver measurable results for advertisers, and push the boundaries of what advertising can be on ambient, voice-first, and living-room screens.
This role sits at the intersection of multiple device publishers - each with their own product vision, roadmap, and customer experience bar. You will build deep, trusted relationships with publisher teams across the Devices organization, drive cross-publisher alignment on shared design standards and ad experience principles, and ensure a cohesive advertising experience for customers regardless of which device surface they encounter

Your ability to navigate competing priorities, find common ground, and champion a unified UX vision across publishers will be critical to success.
You are a builder who ships. You bring urgency and a bias for action to everything you do - moving ideas from concept to launched experience at a pace that matches the speed of our business. You will integrate AI into the design process to accelerate delivery, unlock creative possibilities, and raise the quality bar

You thrive in ambiguity, bring clarity to complex problems, and have a track record of influencing cross-functional partners to align on a shared vision and ship together.
Key job responsibilities
* Own the design delivery pipeline from concept through launch - ensuring the team ships high-quality advertising experiences across Amazon Devices
* Establish a culture of urgency and accountability; remove blockers, streamline decision-making, and drive rapid iteration cycles to get experiences into market fast
* Partner with Engineering and Product to compress timelines, identify MVP scopes, and make smart trade-offs that balance speed with craft
* Measure and communicate the impact of shipped experiences - engagement rates, ad interaction metrics, advertiser adoption, and customer sentiment - and use those signals to inform what to build next
* Build and maintain deep, trusted relationships with publisher teams across Amazon Devices - Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Alexa, Echo Show, and emerging device surfaces
* Serve as the primary UX point of contact for device publishers on advertising experience strategy; understand each publisher's product vision, customer experience bar, and technical constraints
* Drive cross-publisher alignment on shared design standards, ad format specifications, interaction patterns, and quality guardrails - ensuring a cohesive and consistent advertising experience across the device ecosystem
* Facilitate regular cross-publisher design reviews, alignment forums, and roadmap syncs to proactively identify conflicts, surface shared opportunities, and build consensus on priorities
* Navigate competing publisher priorities with diplomacy and data; advocate for the customer experience while balancing advertiser needs and publisher goals
* Develop and socialize a unified advertising design language across device surfaces that respects each publisher's unique context while maintaining ecosystem coherence
* Lead, mentor, and grow a team of UX Designers, fostering a culture of craft excellence, experimentation, and customer obsession
* Design ad experiences that feel native, contextual, and additive to the device experience - not interruptive; champion a customer-first approach to advertising on personal and shared devices
* Champion AI-powered design workflows - integrating generative AI, automation, and intelligent tooling into the team's creative process to increase efficiency, speed-to-market, and scalability
* Explore emerging interaction paradigms - voice, gesture, ambient UI, multimodal - and translate them into innovative, shippable ad formats
* Translate business goals and technical constraints (device performance, screen fidelity, input modality) into compelling, customer-centric design solutions that can be shipped incrementally
* Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Science, and Business stakeholders across devices publishers to shape the advertising roadmap and ensure UX is a strategic driver of outcomes
* Influence across organizational boundaries - building consensus, driving alignment, and resolving ambiguity on complex, cross-team initiatives where speed and clarity are critical
* Establish strong relationships with partner UX teams across Devices and Ads to ensure consistency and coherence across the broader customer experience
* Drive efficient, predictable delivery of design work; build repeatable processes that enable the team to ship fast without sacrificing quality
* Balance long-term strategic bets (next-generation device ad formats) with near-term delivery commitments; manage the team's portfolio of work across multiple device surfaces with a bias toward action
* Use data, research insights, and customer feedback to inform design decisions and measure the real-world impact of shipped experiences
About the team
Amazon Ads helps brands design ad experiences that delight customers and deliver meaningful results. With billions of first-party signals and a suite of innovative ad products spanning display, video, audio, and custom formats, we are uniquely positioned to help advertisers reach the right audiences across Amazon's ecosystem and beyond. Our team is passionate about inventing on behalf of customers and pushing the boundaries of what advertising can be.
