As an Amazon Driver, your workday typically begins by reporting to an Amazon delivery station, where you’ll load your vehicle with packages according to a pre-assigned route. Throughout the day, you’ll use GPS navigation and a mobile app to deliver packages to homes and businesses, often making 100–200 stops per shift. You’re largely working independently but may occasionally communicate with dispatchers or interact with customers at delivery locations. The job is fast-paced and can require lifting, walking, and being outdoors in various weather conditions, making adaptability and efficiency important. Successful drivers often enjoy the autonomy, the physical activity, and the satisfaction of providing timely service to customers.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Amazon driver?

Amazon Drivers need a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate delivery vehicles while managing packages of varying sizes. They commonly use GPS navigation systems, delivery tracking apps, and handheld scanners to efficiently manage their routes and document deliveries. Excellent time management, customer service skills, and reliability help drivers consistently meet delivery deadlines and address customer needs. These combined skills ensure timely, accurate deliveries and contribute to a positive customer experience, which is essential for success in this fast-paced logistics role.

How do I get a job as an Amazon driver?

To become an Amazon driver, you need to apply through the Amazon.jobs website or local delivery service providers partnered with Amazon.
