Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are seeking an innovative and solution-oriented System Development Engineer to join our Regulatory Engineering team to develop innovative solutions [TBD]
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will work within the Regulatory Engineering and Analysis team to:
1. Develop automated data retrieval tools to obtain external publicly-available information to be used both for situational awareness and to configure Kuiper operational mechanisms;
2

Implement data repositories to keep track of data, constraints, and configurations;
3. Implement deployment mechanisms using automated machine-to-machine interfaces to facilitate safe and efficient deployments of regulatory constraints to operational systems in accordance with CI/CD best practices;
4. Support the development of team-internal software tools used to analyze satellite system behavior and to determine and optimize Leo system operational constraints.

This includes tools to facilitate satellite communications modeling and simulation, geospatial visualizations, and data analytics;
5. Develop operational monitoring tools to ingest logs and poll status for system behavior validation, optimization, and early detection & reporting of issues to on-call staff.

permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
About the team
The Global Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for enabling and protecting Amazon Leo's use of radio frequency spectrum throughout the world. The Regulatory Engineering and Analysis Team uses a data driven approach to develop strategies for regulatory and policy advocacy, and to guide the Amazon Leo system's use of RF spectrum

The Regulatory Engineering and Analysis Team analyzes Amazon Leo system performance, including how it is affected by RF interference, and works in close collaboration with Amazon Leo design teams to optimize the satellite architecture and meet its regulatory obligations.
