Job description

Sweet Home Sanitation, a Waste Connections Company is looking for a safety conscience Container Delivery Driver to join our team in SweetHome, OR.

.

The position will be responsible for driving specified routes to pick up and deliver recycling and garbage containers to new and existing customers, including washing and repairing bins to be redistributed. Daily work will involve heavy industrial lifting, lifting waist high, gripping with hands, moving at a brisk consistent pace, and occasional bending. This position will also be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously serving customers.

Schedule- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (Occasional Overtime or Saturdays.)

Pay: $22.00+/hour DOE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to safely operate delivery truck to deliver containers.
  • Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
  • Power washing, repairing, and assembling trash bins and containers
  • Ability to perform a physically demanding job, lifting and moving containers that weigh over 75 pounds.
  • Perform daily pre and post trip inspections.
  • Courteous interaction with our customers
  • Perform yard work or debris clean up, including cutting weeds.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 75 pounds. Moderate noise level.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which requires following basic safety precautions.
  • Exposure to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Drivers license, with Clean Driving Record. (Required)
  • Must pass criminal background check, drug panel screening, and motor vehicle report (Clean driving record) to be eligible for employment.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Ability to work a physically demanding job.  Loading and unloading cans with no helpers.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments
