Company Overview

Kristen Distributing Company is a local, family-owned beverage distribution company based in the Bryan/College Station area, with a rich history dating back to 1930 when it was founded in Bellville, Texas. Our mission at Kristen Distributing Company is to uphold the highest standards by providing exceptional beverages that align with the manufacturer's marketing concepts. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages personal independence, offers abundant opportunities, and prioritizes the development that enhances the strengths and dignity of our employees and customers.

Position Overview

The Part-Time Delivery Prep Associate at Kristen Distributing Company is responsible for wrapping, sequencing, and loading completed customer orders in preparation for delivery while working a consistent weekday schedule of 20–25 hours per week. This position ensures that each order is securely wrapped using the wrapping machine, organized by route and stop sequence, and properly loaded onto trailers to support efficient and safe delivery. The Delivery Prep Associate also takes into account weight distribution within the trailer to prevent damage to product and reduce the risk of rollover during transport, playing a key role in both customer satisfaction and driver safety.

Key Responsibilities

Your essential duties will include:

  • Order Wrapping: Wrap completed customer orders using the automated wrapping machine after QA verification
  • Load Sequencing: Organize wrapped pallets in delivery sequence by route and stop number to support efficient driver offload
  • Trailer Loading: Load orders onto trailers in proper sequence while ensuring stability and minimizing potential for product movement
  • Weight Distribution: Strategically load trailers with consideration for even weight distribution to prevent tipping or trailer instability
  • Pallet Handling: Operate pallet jacks or forklifts (with proper certification) to stage and load product
  • Communication: Coordinate with QA Associates and warehouse leads to verify order readiness and address discrepancies
  • Damage Prevention: Handle all product with care to reduce potential for damage during loading or transport
  • Safety Awareness: Follow warehouse safety procedures during all loading and material handling activities
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized loading area and dock space
  • Lifting & Handling: Safely lift and move products up to 50 lbs. while following proper handling techniques and safety protocols
  • Other Duties: Demonstrate flexibility and initiative by performing other job-related tasks as assigned to support warehouse operations
Benefits

We value the dedication of our employees and offer an enticing range of benefits to ensure your well-being and satisfaction.

  • Schedule: Part-time, 20–25 hours per week, Monday–Friday. Shifts are scheduled based on availability; no weekend work required.
  • 401(k) with Company Match: Plan for your future with our retirement savings program, which includes a company match to help your money grow faster.
  • Work-Life Balance: Recharge and rejuvenate with weekends off, empowering you to strike the perfect balance between your professional and personal life.
  • Efficient Paydays: Experience seamless and hassle-free paydays through our convenient bi-weekly pay schedule and direct deposit payment system, allowing you to focus on what matters most.
  • Employee Counseling: Access free, confidential counseling from our dedicated on-staff counselor, providing invaluable support for life's everyday challenges.
  • Provided Equipment: We furnish essential tools and technology to support employees in their roles, fostering productivity and seamless communication across the organization.

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse or loading experience preferred
  • Experience operating pallet jacks; forklift experience or certification is a plus
  • Understanding of proper trailer loading techniques and weight distribution best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow load sequencing accurately
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring frequent standing, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to follow instructions, complete tasks independently, and meet shift expectations
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work environment
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
