Over the course of the interns’ time at Huntington, they gain exposure to key business functions across all segments of the organization. An intern’s experience should be focused on professional growth, skill development, and practical application of academic learning. Interns participate in a structured series of development opportunities, including interactions with senior leadership and career pathing insights. The experience also includes immersion in Huntington’s award‑winning culture through community involvement and team‑based activities. Internships at Huntington are designed to help students build a strong foundation for future career success while contributing to meaningful business initiatives.

Internship Opportunities at Huntington:

Huntington offers internship opportunities for students who are currently enrolled in an academic program and seeking practical, hands‑on experience in their field of study.  Internships take place during a defined period of time and are available across all business segments.

  • Rising juniors (Winter 2028 or Spring 2029 grads) may participate in Huntington's Foundations Program, an 8-week, regionally focused experience where students partner directly with a manager and team, contribute to meaningful projects, build professional skills, and explore career opportunities across Huntington and the financial services industry.
  • Rising seniors (Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 grads) may participate in the Enterprise Internship Program, an 11-week, role-aligned experience where students work directly with a manager and team on meaningful business initiatives. In addition to hands-on project work, participants gain exposure to executive leadership, participate in Huntington's innovation project, and build connections that may lead to future full-time opportunities.

All interns participate in a variety of developmental and professional activities designed to support learning and exposure to the organization. Depending on your school year, program components may include:

  • Experience in day‑to‑day responsibilities related to their assigned team
  • Exposure to broader business functions
  • A structured schedule of professional development sessions
  • Opportunities to engage with members of the Executive Leadership Team
  • Discussions with senior leaders regarding career paths and Huntington’s business areas
  • A team project focused on applying Huntington’s innovation framework to a business‑relevant problem
  • Participation in volunteer activities and internal events aligned with Huntington’s culture

Data Internship Overview

Our internship program includes several Data-intensive opportunities across many business segments. Interested candidates should apply to this requisition, and specific areas of interest/opportunities will be discussed during screening conversations.

Within the various business segments, data interns gain exposure to the data needs of the specific business function. Students partner directly with professionals to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives while applying data science and data analysis skills.

Opportunities may include exposure pulling and scrubbing data sets, providing data analysis, creating data visualization products for presentations, and more. Successful candidates are curious, collaborative, and interested in learning more about careers working with and around data.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School graduate
  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with at least one quarter/semester of school after the completion of the summer program.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice® applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Course(s) of study applicable to the area of business
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions
  • Ability to display a positive business presence with management and external personnel
  • A strong interest in Banking as a career
  • Relevant Majors: Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Quantitative majors, and others.
  • Relevant Coursework: Data Analysis, data structures, quantitative courses, data modeling
  • Preferred Skills & Interests: SQL, Tableau, Python, PowerBI, JavaScript, R and others
