Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Engineering to be part of making that happen.

Description

  • Manage a team of data storage, data management and data engineering professionals.

  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the domain.

  • Oversee the development, security, and performance of data Cylance Data Platform.

  • Ensure the availability and cost-efficiency of data infrastructure.

  • Coordinate data solutions across multiple geographical regions.

  • Manage data warehouse (Databricks), OLTP databases, open search, and elastic cache clusters.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, leadership experience, and a proven track record of delivering effective data solutions in cybersecurity domain.

  • Development of data pipelines (ETL jobs), query jobs and dashboards for data insights via databricks notebooks - Python, Scala, SQL based notebooks. 

  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement appropriate technologies for long-term data storage for a variety of application service including our data lake.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to identify concrete requirements pertaining to ACIDity, performance and throughput objectives, and recommend and educate teams as to available technologies.

  • Develop and maintain runbooks to allow NOC staff to respond to anticipable operational events.

  • Identify and correct cost or operational inefficiencies in existing system implementations.

  • Recruit and develop additional members of the DB operations/automation team to develop and maintain team capabilities and maintain business continuity.

  • Oversee the development of software and software tools used for design, infrastructure, and platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, and databases.

  • Determine hardware compatibility and/or hardware design.

  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Provide Tier-2 and Tier-3 on-call support two weeks per month.

  • Telecommuting permissible from anywhere in the U.S.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

Experience and/or education must include:

  • Designing, implementing, and managing high-availability solutions for DataBricks in a high volume security telemetry environment.
  • Knowledge in EPP, EDR and XDR Data Schema evolution.
  • Using Amazon DMS to migrate EDR data from various database sources such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle to target databases, including Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Writing and maintaining Jenkins pipelines or Cloudbees job configurations to streamline the CI/CD process.
  • Using JIRA for project management, including creating and managing projects, issues, and workflows.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Developing and maintaining Python-based applications, scripts, and utilities to automate various tasks and processes.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing NoSQL databases using Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Administering and managing specified database platforms, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and high-availability strategies.
  • Using automation technologies to automate various IT processes, such as infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and configuration management.

The base salary range for this job family is $214,053 - $233,000 USD annually. This range reflects the base pay the company reasonably expects to offer for this position, aligned to the broader job family base pay structure. Actual base pay may vary based on skills, experience, and location, including job family level. In addition to base pay, Arctic Wolf offers variable incentive compensation, new hire equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
