Job description

Meeks Environmental Services is looking for a dependable, hardworking CDL Driver to join our team.

You will operate pump trucks and other commercial vehicles while performing hands-on work with septic tanks, grease traps, and other wastewater-related jobs.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently and solve problems in the field.

This is a dirty job, but we take pride in keeping it as clean, professional, and safe as possible. Taking care of your truck, equipment, and work area is very important to us.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate pump trucks and other commercial vehicles
  • Perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
  • Pump and service septic tanks, grease traps, and other wastewater systems
  • Operate pumps, hoses, valves, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot problems and make good decisions in the field
  • Communicate with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers
  • Keep trucks, equipment, and work areas clean
  • Complete job paperwork and communicate job details to the office
  • Assist with physical labor as needed
  • Take the lead on jobs when necessary
  • Follow company safety procedures and DOT regulations
  • Participate in occasional after-hours emergency and on-call work; additional compensation is provided for after hour emergency work.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid CDL
  • Tanker endorsement
  • Safe driving record
  • Dependable and willing to work
  • Able to work outdoors and perform physical labor
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate job conditions to the office
  • Willingness to learn

Preferred:

  • 1+ year of commercial driving experience
  • Class A CDL
  • Pump truck or roll-off experience
  • Septic, grease trap, or environmental service experience
  • Plumbing experience
  • Mechanical experience
  • Previous leadership or foreman experience
