Job description

Amazon's Identity Security & Access Platform (ISAP) is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the Authentication Engineering team - a foundational pillar of Identity and Access Management for Amazon's Stores organization. This is a rare opportunity to own a portfolio of mission-critical services that deliver Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for hundreds of thousands of associates working across Amazon's global network of fulfillment centers, enabling the secure, uninterrupted operations that get millions of packages into customers' hands every day. Our systems sit at the intersection of security, scalability, and operational resilience - protecting Amazon's Customer Logistics organization by ensuring that only the right people, in the right context, have access to the tools and systems that power one of the world's most complex logistics networks.

You will lead a team of talented engineers in a high-velocity environment, driving the technical roadmap for authentication, contextual authorization, and AI-integrated security, while partnering cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business stakeholders across Customer Logistics to deliver results at Amazon scale. We are looking for a proven engineering leader with deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems and identity and access management, a strong track record of delivering complex technical programs in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, and a genuine passion for hiring and developing top talent. If you thrive in high-ownership environments, are energized by hard security problems, and want to lead a team whose work directly enables the delivery of millions of packages to customers every day - we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
- As a Software Development Manager on the ISAP Authentication Engineering team, you will partner closely with a talented team of engineers and security product managers to ideate, build, operate, and scale mission-critical authentication services that protect Amazon's Customer Logistics organization at massive scale - securing access for hundreds of thousands of associates across Amazon's global fulfillment network

- You will be accountable for delivering ISAP's most strategic authentication initiatives, including advancing Multi-Factor Authentication infrastructure, contextual authorization capabilities, and AI-integrated security solutions that sit between distributed systems and identity infrastructure.
- You will drive the technical roadmap for associate authentication and least-privilege access enforcement, ensuring that every associate interaction across Amazon's fulfillment centers is protected against unauthorized access, credential compromise, and insider threats - without introducing friction that slows down the operations that customers depend on.
- As part of Amazon's broader technical leadership community, you will play a critical role in shaping ISAP's long-term IAM strategy for Customer Logistics, working in close partnership with senior executives, cross-functional security stakeholders, and teams across the Stores organization to define business targets, resource requirements, and organizational priorities.
- You will set a high bar for engineering excellence across the full development lifecycle - from early design through Tier-1 production operations - actively contribute to hiring and developing a world-class team of security engineers, and leverage your leadership to accelerate the delivery of innovative authentication solutions that safeguard Amazon's associates, operations, and customers at scale.
