Job description

As Head of Global Events, you'll lead Amazon's Devices & Services partner events strategy and a team of five events professionals executing events across multiple tiers and organizational stakeholders. This role is suited to a business-focused leader who can translate partner engagement opportunities into measurable outcomes, establish strategic relationships that amplify our developer community, and demonstrate strong financial acumen in budget management and strategic decision making.
You'll proactively network across D&S teams to identify opportunities where your team's events expertise can add value, and partner with leadership to secure resources to expand the team's support footprint. Working closely with senior stakeholders across FireTV and Alexa product teams, Developer Marketing, Business Development, and D&S leadership, you'll align events strategy with product roadmaps, partner enablement objectives, and executive communication priorities

The role requires approximately 25% travel and includes responsibility for the Home Lab, which drives technical integration of Amazon products for event demonstrations and partner experiences.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as strategic advisor to FireTV and Alexa leadership on event investments, developing frameworks for partner activations that showcase technical capabilities, business opportunities, and differentiation
Drive continuous improvement in partner engagement quality, developer satisfaction, and business impact through data-driven decision making and feedback loops
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, customer obsession, and partner-first thinking
Set clear goals aligned to business objectives, provide regular feedback, and create development opportunities that enable team members to grow their careers
Build organizational capability through strategic hiring, succession planning, and skills development focused on B2B event expertise
Model Amazon's Leadership Principles and create an inclusive, collaborative team environment that values diverse perspectives
Oversee end-to-end planning and execution of major industry events including CES, Alexa and FireTV partner summits, developer conferences, and strategic partner showcases
Manage corporate events for D&S leadership that facilitate partner engagement, business development, and strategic relationship building
Ensure operational excellence across all events through rigorous project management, risk mitigation, quality control, and contingency planning
Build and maintain strong partnerships with FireTV and Alexa product teams, Developer Marketing, Business Development, PR, and other key stakeholders
About the team
The Developer Marketing, Education, and Technology team (MET) is part of the Content & App Partner Engagement (CAPE) organization within Amazon's Devices & Services division. The Global Events team manages a multi-million dollar events portfolio driving B2B engagement across FireTV, Alexa, and the broader Devices & Services organization, including leading D&S presence at major industry events like CES and MWC, managing developer and partner summits, and overseeing internal executive initiatives.
