CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist)

Description

Join a high-acuity, physician-led anesthesia care team at a large, growing healthcare system in Central Florida. This full-time employee opportunity offers flexible self-scheduling, an excellent work-life balance, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to practice across two hospitals with a diverse surgical case mix. This position provides autonomy within a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team (ACT) model while caring for patients at a Level I Trauma Center and the region's only Comprehensive Stroke Center.

  • 585-bed healthcare system across two hospital campuses (323-bed and 262-bed facilities)

    • 20 Anesthesiologists
    • 32 Advanced Practice Providers (CRNAs/AAs)

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care across a broad surgical case mix
  • Work collaboratively within an ACT model alongside anesthesiologists and fellow APPs
  • Manage anesthesia for:
    • General
    • GYN
    • ENT
    • Urology
    • Orthopedic
    • Spine
    • Vascular
    • Cardiovascular
    • Neuro
    • Robotics
    • GI procedures
  • Participate in trauma coverage as required
  • Utilize Meditech and Medaxian documentation systems
  • Mentor and support SRNAs during clinical rotations
  • Maintain professional standards and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives

QualificationsRequired
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Board Certified through the NBCRNA
  • Active Florida APRN license (or ability to obtain)
  • ATLS certification required for providers participating on the Trauma Team
Preferred

Working Hours
  • Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN opportunities available
  • Employee (EE) position
  • Scheduled 80 hours biweekly
  • Flexible self-scheduling through QGenda
  • Shift options include:
    • 8-hour
    • 10-hour
    • 12-hour
    • 16-hour operating room shifts
    • 24-hour trauma shifts
  • No traditional call schedule
  • One weekend shift per month (8:00 AM-4:00 PM, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, or 7:00 AM-8:30 PM)
  • Four to five 3:00 PM-11:00 PM shifts annually
  • No call responsibilities after 11:00 PM

Skills
  • Expertise in administering anesthesia across multiple surgical specialties
  • Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking
  • Trauma anesthesia experience or willingness to obtain ATLS certification
  • Cardiac anesthesia experience is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment
  • Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Interest in mentoring SRNAs and contributing to clinical education
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation platforms
