Summary:

The Diagnostic Radiologist's role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients at Altru, providing comprehensive care for injuries and illnesses. Diagnostic Radiologists' responsibilities include counseling patients on preventive healthcare measures and exercising professional judgment in alignment with Altru's policies and standards. The position requires achieving annual Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals, supporting department objectives, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure quality patient care and appropriate reimbursement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluates, provides diagnosis and treatment of patientsofAltru whopresentwith injuries or illnesses.Counselspatients andadviseson preventative healthcare measures.

  • Exercises Doctor's own judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients consistent with Altru's policies and standards.

  • Achieves the Altru Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goalsestablishedon an annual basis. Participates in activities and support department goals as defined bydepartmenton an annual basis.

Qualifications:
  • Doctorate withinspecifiedfield of medical practice from respective accreditedschool.
  • Must be admissible to sit for either the Canadian or American Board or be certified by the Canadian Board and are members of either the Royal College of Physicians or Royal College of Surgeons, American boardcertificationor the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) board certification. Board certification inareaof specialty must be obtained within six years of employment.

  • Must be granted medical staff appointments at Altru and associated facilities as are necessary to the commission of duties prior to commencement of employment.

  • Must be insurable under the Health System's professional liability carrier prior to commencement of employment.

  • Be legally licensed to practice medicine by the North Dakota Board of Medicine and/or Minnesota Board of Medicine, depending on the location of the practice to which they are assigned.

  • Maintainsaccurateandtimelydocumentation ensuring quality patient care and assurance ofappropriate reimbursementsto Altru.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
