Job description

Join Altra Federal Credit Union as we celebrate 95 years of serving our members and communities with trusted financial solutions and exceptional services. We are seeking a detail-oriented and member-focused Part-Time Loan Servicing Specialist to join our team at the Operations Center in Onalaska WI. This position offers an opportunity to play an important role in supporting our loan servicing operations while contributing to the continued success of the credit union with a proud 95-year history and a strong community to putting members first.
As a Loan Servicing Specialist, you will support servicing functions for consumer, business, and real estate loans, as well as credit card accounts. In this role, you will collaborate with the Credit Services department and teams across the credit union to deliver positive member experiences and strengthen member relationships.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily servicing and account maintenance activities related to consumer, business, and real estate loan products.
  • Work internal calls and activity requests from branches and other departments.
  • Ensure all loan servicing related tasks are completed.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely posting of mailed-in member deposits, payments and related tasks are completed.
  • Assist with other departmental duties as needed, including but not limited to answering phone calls, training and mentoring co-workers and cross-training.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • One (1) month to one (1) year of general loan servicing or related experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is required.
  • Knowledge in loan servicing processes, documents, regulations, compliance requirements, and credit union policies would be beneficial.
Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrate professionalism, strong member-service and effective support for staff.
  • Use sound judgment to solve problems and make effective decisions.
  • Manage time effectively and work independently.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish / Hmong) skills are strongly encouraged to support and better serve our diverse membership.
Availability
  • This position is part-time, 29- hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Daily hours will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility for different scheduling needs, as needed.
Work Environment
  • This position is located at Altra's Operations Center in Onalaska, WI.
  • Work from home opportunities can be available after 3-6 months of employment, once successfully completing all position-specific training and demonstration of consistent and satisfactory work performance
Pay & Benefits
  • Competitive starting hourly pay, based on previous experience.
  • When bilingual in Spanish or Hmong, receive a $1.00 per hour pay premium after completing and passing a language exam.
