Job description

Position Overview

Apollo is a high-growth, global alternative asset manager with approximately $938 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2025. The firm seeks to provide clients with excess return at every point along the risk-reward spectrum, from investment-grade credit to private equity. Through its fully integrated platform and retirement services business, Athene, Apollo delivers innovative capital solutions and retirement savings products that expand opportunity and drive long-term value.

Apollo is seeking a Director to join the Transformation Management team, with a focus on private credit and private markets data initiatives. This role will partner closely with Origination, Product Structuring, Portfolio Management, and Quantitative teams to drive data lineage, data governance, and transformation initiatives that enhance investment decision-making and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing Apollo's strategy across its private credit platform, ensuring scalable, transparent, and high-quality data infrastructure to support business growth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic transformation initiatives focused on private credit and private markets data, including data lineage, governance, and architecture enhancements.

  • Partner closely with Origination, Product Structuring, Portfolio Management, and Data & Quantitative teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that support investment and portfolio management processes.

  • Serve as the primary project lead for complex, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring delivery against timelines, scope, budget, and key performance indicators.

  • Develop and document current-state and target-state data workflows, identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, accessibility, and transparency across the private markets platform.

  • Drive the implementation of scalable data frameworks supporting deal lifecycle management, portfolio analytics, and investor reporting.

  • Establish best practices in project management, stakeholder engagement, and change management across enterprise data initiatives.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations and analyses to support strategic decision-making and transformation priorities.

  • Collaborate with technology and data teams to align business requirements with enterprise data architecture and analytics platforms.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, data integrity, and operational excellence across Apollo's private credit and private markets ecosystem.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, transformation, or operations within alternative asset management, private markets or financial services.

  • Deep understanding of private credit, private markets, and alternative asset management data ecosystems, including deal lifecycle, portfolio management, and reporting requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale transformation initiatives.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with investment professionals, including origination, structuring, and portfolio management teams.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable solutions.

  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced degree in finance, business, data science, or a related field.

  • Experience working with private credit or structured products data, including asset-backed finance, direct lending, or opportunistic credit strategies.

  • Experience supporting regulatory, investor reporting, or portfolio analytics within alternative asset management.

Pay Range

235,000 - 285,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above.
