Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Tailor at Todd Snyder ensures that all aspects of alterations, tailoring and fitting is consistent with company quality standards while meeting customer expectations and needs. The Tailor enhances in-store customer experience by ensuring customer satisfaction. This role will also add value to the team by educating coworkers on tailoring best practices and guidance on alteration feasibility of some specialty products. The Tailor Is able to provide specialized recommendations if required by guests in order to meet their wearability needs. The Tailor directly contributes to the success of Todd Snyder stores and profitability.

 
POSITION TITLE: Tailor
REPORTS TO: Store Manager

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own results, successes and opportunities for area of business with the intention of making Todd Snyder a premier destination of Menswear
  • Responsible for accurate markings on the garment to ensure garment is altered properly 
  • Performs alterations according to the client's needs and following Company quality standards. 
  • Partners with Sales Associates in servicing clients to provide exceptional service during fittings. 
  • Perform special requests for customers and support with Made to Measure ordering process
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and tracking of all goods
  • Communicate turnaround timelines with customers and ensure deadlines are met
  • Understand any type of alterations fitted to the customer 
  • Ensure markings are clear and concise for other tailors to execute (if required)
  • Communicate with Operations Lead to keep supplies stocked and any special request based on complexity of project
  • Communicate any service issues to Store Manager and have a solution oriented mindset around resolving issues. 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Passion for Todd Snyder brand and interest in contributing the future of menswear and American fashion
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related alterations and specifically, 'fitting' experience, preferably in a high end retail environment. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Must be detailed, precise and organized. 
  • Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
