The Global Economics and Management (GEM) Group at the MIT Sloan School of Management invites applications for the role of Lecturer, with an appointment effective September 1, 2026. Applicants selected for this position will play a key role in enhancing our graduate students’ academic experience by collaborating with the MIT Sloan GEM faculty and the Action Learning Office (ALO) to advance learning through a variety of project-based learning or “lab” courses. The lecturer hired for this role will serve as a “mentor” or team coach, advising students and their team, supporting them in advancing their work on real-world business problems for sponsoring host companies. The role of lecturer/mentor includes supporting graduate student teams by sharing business subject matter expertise, prior work experience including, if appropriate, international engagement, as well as assisting students in navigating interpersonal and team dynamics. Although mentors usually have some subject matter expertise, their most important and primary role is that of coach or advisor for the MIT Sloan MBAs and other graduate students. The role is compensated based on the number of student teams assigned. We anticipate 1-3 teams at the rate of $2700/team. Min. compensation is $2700, max. compensation is $8100.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: strategic management consulting, human resources management, entrepreneurship, organizational design, technology, or supply chain management. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; an ability to work in a matrixed environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents. Experience in higher education, as well as successful experience teaching a diverse and multicultural student population, is highly desirable. Candidates must be willing to work some evenings and weekends as needed. Familiarity with MIT Sloan faculty and/or MIT faculty is helpful. Relevant formal education is preferred.

The Global Economics and Management Group include faculty with interests in international economics, political economy, economic history, and international management and business. Our group is part of the Behavioral and Policy Sciences Area, one of three major research areas at MIT Sloan.

Please submit applications electronically at https://apply.interfolio.com/186757. You will be asked to provide a current CV along with a cover letter outlining your interests and experience. Candidates advanced to final consideration will be asked to provide two professional references. Applications are due Friday, June 5, 2026, by no later than 5 p.m.
