The Integrative Health and Wellness Clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team at our Urgent Care Center in Guilford, Connecticut. In this full-time, onsite role, you will play a central part in delivering exceptional healthcare to a diverse patient population, managing a variety of medical conditions, and contributing to high standards of patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The Urgent Care Center operates under high-volume, fast-paced conditions, allowing you to serve approximately 40 to 50 patients each day. You will work side by side with a diverse group of healthcare professionals committed to delivering high-quality urgent care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations, to diagnose and treat urgent medical conditions.
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and administering injections, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory work and imaging to inform treatment plans.
  • Document all patient interactions and clinical findings accurately using Allscripts Touchworks EMR, ensuring complete documentation prior to the end of your shift.
  • Collaborate with the Center Medical Director to maintain operational standards and ensure adherence to medical protocols, enhancing the overall quality of care.
  • Engage in patient education and counseling, helping patients understand their medical conditions and necessary follow-up care.
  • Proactively participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to effective patient care delivery and the support of clinical staff.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to patients to monitor their progress and well-being following clinic visits.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our urgent care center provides services to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric populations. You will encounter a wide range of medical issues, including but not limited to respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disturbances, injuries, and preventative care needs. Your role will not only be to treat immediate health concerns but also to foster long-term health and wellness among the patients you serve.

Qualifications
  • Earned Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited program.
  • Valid and unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of clinical experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting, providing hands-on experience in acute care management.
  • Current certifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ensuring you're prepared for all patient scenarios.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary range of $180,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our full-time schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, offering a balanced work-life dynamic.
