Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position at a Level II Trauma facility in Illinois, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with a preference for open heart and CRRT experience.

Details
  • Acute care setting in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Level II Trauma facility
  • Patient population includes post-PCI, post-bypass, and CHF patients
  • RNs are required to titrate drips
  • Sheath pulling experience preferred; CRRT highly preferred
  • Charting system: Allscripts
  • Draeger telemetry monitors are used on the unit; RNs are required to interpret their own strips (monitor tech also present)
  • 24/7 intensivist and hospitalist (MD & NP) coverage in house
  • Respiratory therapy assigned 24/7 to the ICU/PCU with full respiratory equipment available (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.)
  • 12-hour night shifts on a blocked weekender schedule
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Level II Trauma experience or higher required
  • Open heart surgical experience preferred
  • Experience pulling sheaths preferred
  • CRRT experience highly preferred
  • Allscripts EMR experience beneficial
Additional Information
  • 4 hours of billable computer modules are required prior to the start of the assignment; modules are delivered Monday–Tuesday of the week prior to start and must be completed by 7:00 AM the Friday before the start date
  • Module hours should be added to the first week's timesheet
