LIQUID FILLING TECHNICIAN

Position Type: Long-term contract with possibility of permanent conversion
Travel: 80-90% (domestic and international)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience + per diem


ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking skilled Liquid Filling Technicians with proven experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of industrial liquid filling equipment. In this role, you will provide critical customer support by performing preventive maintenance, service, installation, commissioning, training, and consultation at various customer locations throughout the United States and Canada.

This position requires flexibility, advanced mechanical and electrical skills, and extensive PLC knowledge. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, adapts quickly to last-minute schedule changes, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install and repair liquid filling equipment at customer facilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and service procedures within scheduled timeframes
  • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Conduct inspection visits and purchase service/installation materials as required
  • Deliver customer and end-user on-site training
  • Read and interpret electrical documentation, hardware drawings, and program terms for troubleshooting
  • Read and comprehend plant drawings and layouts
  • Prepare detailed service reports and complete all service documentation according to company guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with an international team including affiliate companies
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety standards and guidelines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years field technician experience
  • Liquid filling equipment experience
  • Petrochemical industry experience (required or strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced PLC knowledge (Siemens or Allen Bradley required)
  • Electrical systems knowledge
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical documentation, hardware drawings, and program terms
  • Ability to read and comprehend plant drawings and layouts
  • Proficient written and verbal English communication skills

Certifications & Requirements:

  • Valid passport or ability to obtain
  • Valid driver's license with clear driving record
  • Clear background check
  • Negative drug screen
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • TWIC Card (required for some locations, preferred for others)
  • OSHA 10 (required for some locations, preferred for others)

Education:

  • Technical degree with minimum 2 years' experience (preferred), OR
  • Equivalent years of working experience, OR
  • Completed apprenticeship/trade program in industrial automation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with servo drives
  • Knowledge of bus systems
  • Weighing technology experience
  • Studio 5000 and Panel View experience
  • Prior commissioning experience
  • International work experience
  • SAP experience

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
  • Travel: 80-90% throughout United States and Canada, with occasional international assignments
  • Schedule: Flexible based on customer needs and commission schedules
  • Hours: Typically 7 AM - 6 PM, but varies by project
  • On-call: Monday - Friday availability required
  • Overtime: Available
  • Notice: Schedules typically provided one week in advance, but last-minute changes are common and flexibility is essential

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work conditions vary significantly by location
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot or cold environments)
  • Dusty industrial environments
  • Some chemical plants require respirators or masks
  • Physical requirements: Lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing, extended standing duration
  • Safety shoes required (candidate must provide)
  • All other PPE provided
