Travel Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist jobs in Norfolk, VA let you work in a dynamic coastal city at a facility with advanced cardiac and vascular service lines and a collaborative culture. You will perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, assist physicians in invasive and non-invasive testing, and maintain cath lab equipment and quality assurance standards. Your responsibilities include patient education, documentation, and participation in research projects, while ensuring radiation safety and regulatory compliance. To qualify, you must have completed an accredited cardiac technology program or a health science degree, hold or obtain Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) certification within 6 months, and have CPR training within 45 days. Pediatric experience and 1-3 years of related work experience are preferred, along with knowledge of invasive procedure protocols and equipment. • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) required within 6 months of hire.
• CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
• PALS and ACLS certification required and/or must be obtained and maintained within 12 months of hire.
• MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Completion of an accredited Cardiac Technology program, Associate, or Baccalaureate program in health science required.
• 1-3 years related work experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience required .
• Knowledge and skill in invasive procedures protocols, equipment and instrumentation specific to cardiac invasive procedures preferred.
• Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with physicians, nursing personnel, clinicians, other support staff, patients, and families.
• Demonstrates the skill set to work independently.
• Ability to accommodate after hour call coverage.
• Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing
