Job Title: Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Technician
Location: Nationwide Travel (Based in U.S.)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule:
  • 5 days x 8-hour shifts or 4 days x 10-hour shifts
  • Monday-Friday with weekend travel as needed
    Work Location: On the road (travel required weekly)

Position Summary:
Alliance Technical Group is hiring an Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Technician to join our growing team! The OGI team is responsible for performing inspections on various types of facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry to identify and quantify gas leaks and vents. We are currently hiring enthusiastic, adventurous, science or mechanically minded individuals who have the desire to obtain valuable work experience and learn on the job. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of industrial processes, and travel to various customer locations with all travel expenses paid.
The work is conducted safely outdoors, in the field, sometimes at elevated heights, so you must love being outside.
Looking for candidates with an understanding of oil and gas field operations and have experience in performing leak detection projects is a plus. OGI Certified Technicians will be given precedence. Can work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Optical Gas Imaging surveys in oil and gas production environments using FLIR or similar thermal imaging equipment (training provided)
  • Assist with emissions testing and related environmental monitoring tasks
  • Operate and maintain field equipment and instrumentation
  • Document findings and follow standard reporting procedures
  • Adhere to safety protocols and client-specific site requirements
  • Travel extensively to sites across the country, often in rural locations
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate data collection and client satisfaction

Required:
  • Willingness and ability to travel weekly
  • High mobility and flexibility to work in remote or rural areas
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Optical Gas Imaging cameras
  • Familiarity with oil and gas production equipment
  • Background in oilfield maintenance mechanics or operations
  • Experience working with tanks, batteries, compressor stations, or gas plants
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The pay range for this entry-level role is $25-$30 per hour.
