Alliance Beverage Distributing, LLC is hiring a Diesel Fleet Mechanic for the afternoon/evening shift in Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay based on experience (Earn up to $36/hour)

4-Day Work Week (Mon–Thurs)

Enjoy 3-day weekends every week


Position Overview

The Diesel Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing company trucks, trailers, and equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring fleet safety, reliability, and compliance while minimizing downtime.

Schedule
  • Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM (flexibility available)
  • Workweek: Monday through Thursday
  • Enjoy 3-day weekends every week

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical, electrical, and safety issues
  • Diagnose and repair:
    • Diesel engines
    • Transmissions and brakes
    • Electrical and hydraulic systems
    • Suspension components
  • Utilize diagnostic software and testing equipment
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company standards
  • Communicate repair timelines and needs with fleet leadership
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working with diesel engines and fleet equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Welding experience preferred

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Vocational or technical training in diesel/automotive technology (preferred)
  • ASE certification (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have own tools
  • Trailer maintenance experience is a plus
