As we move into a growth phase, Aegis Protective Services is hiring a Security Shift Lead in the Cincinnati area. Supervisory experience in the security industry is required for this role, and we will provide additional training to those who are dedicated, ambitious, and serious about their career. You will find structure, support, and stability with Aegis, and we will challenge you to be your best. Our employment standards are high, and our Security Shift Lead must possess the ability to adapt and react quickly while maintaining the safety standards and professionalism for which Aegis Protective Services is known. Advanced knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office products, is crucial, in addition to calmly and professionally overseeing a multi-line phone system in an active environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises, conducting regular inspections to identify and deter potential security risks, illegal activity, or breaches.
  • Operate and monitor surveillance equipment to ensure the security of the premises.
  • Dispatch officers quickly and appropriately to respond to security incidents.
  • In the event of employee callouts find alternate staff to ensure appropriate site coverage.
  • Multitask across various computer software programs with precision.
  • Manage a multi-line phone system.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with site and company staff regarding security matters.
  • Assist with personnel supervision and staffing coordination.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities as required.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and incidents and take appropriate action.
  • Provide excellent service by assisting visitors and employees with inquiries and concerns.
  • Manage conflicts and disturbances in a calm and professional manner.
  • Work together with law enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to security functions and processes.
  • Other tasks as required by management.

Qualified Candidates Must Have:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of supervisor/management experience in the security industry is required.
  • Flexibility across different shifts and work sites.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts when necessary.
  • Exceptional communication and situational awareness skills in multiple environments.
  • Ability to seamlessly multitask across numerous computer software programs.
  • Ability to manage a multi-line phone system calmly and professionally.
  • Advanced computer & technology knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of and experience using CCTV.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated to perform and excel.
  • CPR & First Aid certifications are preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to spend prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Ability to pass a background check & pre-employment drug screen.
  • Adaptable to changing situations & environments.
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse group of people and populations, including law enforcement, building tenants, unhoused individuals, etc.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work in the US without need for sponsorship.
