Malloy Ford of Alexandria is looking for a Ford Certified Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team! 

The Ford Certified Service Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, complex mechanical repairs, and warranty work across all major vehicle systems. This role supports gasoline and hybrid Ford vehicles and requires a deep understanding of engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and electrical systems.

This position is ideal for a technician who already holds Ford certifications, understands dealership workflow, and can work independently while maintaining high quality standards.

Ford Certified Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on Ford vehicles
  • Service engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, and electrical systems
  • Complete warranty repairs according to Ford and dealership standards
  • Use Ford diagnostic equipment and software to verify and resolve concerns
  • Road test vehicles to confirm proper operation after repairs
  • Accurately document all diagnostic findings and completed repairs
  • Communicate clearly with Service Advisors regarding repair needs and timelines
  • Mentor and support developing technicians as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Stay current with Ford technical bulletins, recalls, and training requirements

Ford Certified Automotive Service Technician Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ford Certification preferred
  • Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred
  • At least B level qualifications preferred, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Proven ability to handle complex repairs independently
  • Comfortable leading by example and supporting junior technicians
  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve and learn new technology
  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
  • Trade school or technical training preferred
  • Must provide own tools suitable for advanced repair work
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
