About the Role
ISSE Services is seeking a Junior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join our team in Clearfield, UT. This role offers the opportunity to learn and build upon security best practices, security tool administration and maintenance, and other essential security skills. They will collaborate with other SOC team members on security event analysis, incident response, investigations, and various SOC duties as assigned. Growth opportunities are available for candidates who demonstrate initiative, analytical prowess, and critical thinking skills. ISSE Services will provide 24/7 support services. Junior SOC Analysts are responsible for the following tasks:
  • Perform 24x7x365 monitoring, detection, investigation, and response to security threats.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication throughout all SOC activities.
  • Use security tools such as SIEM, EDR/MDR, vulnerability management tools, and compliance tools to monitor and investigate alerts.
  • Conduct initial triage to validate alerts and eliminate false positives.
  • Follow established playbooks and checklists created by the program security team.
  • Create, update, and maintain incident tickets with accurate and detailed documentation in the program's ticketing system.
  • Perform basic containment actions when an incident is identified.
  • Escalate confirmed or complex incidents to a Mid-Level SOC Analyst or ISSM/ISSO, depending on the incident response team structure.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a SOC, security operations, or incident response role.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to work under pressure, excellent communication skills, and team leadership capabilities.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8140 equivalent certification
  • Certifications preferred but not required: GMON, SecurityX / CASP+, CCISO, CCSP, CGRC/CAP, CISSO, Cloud+, GCSA, GSEC, SSCP
