We have an exciting opportunity available for a Gas Supply Analyst. This role may be hybrid-based in one of our office locations in Fort Smith, AR, Little Rock, AR, Fayetteville, AR, Branson, MO, Lawton, OK or Portland, ME, or fully remote in Texas.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides analytical support for Gas Supply functions, including gas purchasing and system volumes. Responsible for tracking gas supply costs and coordination with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable. Confirms and communicates nominations at pipeline interconnections and resolves discrepancies in industrial customer nominations. Monitors imbalances and assists with billing calculations for industrial customer accounts. Prepares various reports and responses for regulatory commissions, accounting departments, internal and external auditors, and management.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Confirms supply nominations and receipt of natural gas to Summit Utilitiesโ€™ multiple systems for its industrial transportation customers on a daily basis.
  • Communicates internally with gas control on system nomination data on a daily basis.
  • Maintains reporting on all gas supply costs. Supports financial records needed by Accounting and Regulatory teams.
  • Records actual physical gas purchase data and reviews and reconciles gas supply invoices by verifying delivered volumes and accuracy of pricing.
  • Assists with regulatory support tasks related to cost of gas filings, gas procurement planning, prudency reviews, and special projects as needed.
  • Monitors industrial customer nominations, imbalances, and cashout calculations.
  • Develops and cultivates favorable relationships with gas marketers, industrial customers, and pipeline personnel.
  • Provides support for gas supply forecasting, balancing requests, and capacity requirements.
  • Represents the company, as needed, at various business meetings and functions conducted by marketers, gas suppliers, and suppliers of pipeline services.
  • Perform duties inherent in all professional and administrative positions. Consistent with all positions in the classification, additional projects, tasks, and/or duties beyond what is outlined here may be assigned as required.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • A four-year degree in business administration or some related field. Related work experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of 2 years of gas supply experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with general accounting concepts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in spreadsheet development (Excel)

  • Exhibits adaptability by maintaining effectiveness in varying environments and with many different tasks, responsibilities, and people.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook
