Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) Job Description

Organization: Away of Change Counseling Service, LLC

Position Title: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

Reports To: Clinical Director / Program Director

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Summary

The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) provides clinical mental health services to individuals, families, and groups experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. The LCPC conducts clinical assessments, develops treatment plans, provides therapy, maintains clinical documentation, and may serve as a clinical supervisor for provisionally licensed clinicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Services

· Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and mental health assessments

· Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs

· Provide individual, group, and family therapy

· Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed

· Provide crisis intervention and safety planning

· Coordinate care with psychiatrists, case managers, and other providers

· Assist clients in developing coping strategies and recovery plans

Clinical Supervision

· Provide supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians (LGPCs) or interns

· Review and approve clinical documentation completed by supervisees

· Provide guidance on treatment planning, interventions, and ethics

· Ensure supervisees meet state supervision requirements

· Conduct scheduled supervision meetings and maintain documentation

· Support professional development of clinical staff

Documentation

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system

· Complete progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and discharge summaries

· Ensure documentation meets Medicaid, insurance, and regulatory standards

· Review and sign off on supervisee documentation when required

Compliance and Ethics

· Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations

· Follow all state licensing regulations and agency policies

· Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and supervision

· Report incidents or ethical concerns as required

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related behavioral health field.

Licensure: Active Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license in the State of Maryland.

Experience

· Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical counseling experience preferred

· Supervisory experience preferred

· Experience working with individuals with mental health or co-occurring disorders

Required Skills

· Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions

· Strong leadership and supervisory abilities

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong documentation and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively
