Job classification: P2018 - PC Support Specialist
Salary range: $55,000 - $68,000 
Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity. 
Hours per week: 37.5
Paid leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year

SAIT is looking for an Audio-Visual Installer to join our Information Technology Services department. Reporting to the Audio-Visual Supervisor, this role is responsible for delivering after-hours deployment installation services and operational support for AV systems across campus.
 
While classrooms and learning spaces are the primary focus, the role will also support other areas of SAIT as needed. Responsibilities include deployment, installation, mounting, and troubleshooting of AV systems to ensure reliable performance and a seamless user experience.
 
Please note that this is an evening role requiring after-hours work.
 
Shift schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 3:30pm - 11:30pm
Thursday: 3:00pm - 11:00pm 
How you'll contribute
  • Mount and unmount hardware, such as switchers, controllers, PCs, monitors, projectors, screens, TVs, etc.
  • Assist with staging AV systems, including assembly, installation, cabling, and full operational testing.
  • Perform regular maintenance on systems, including cleaning, dust removal, inspection for damaged components, and cable management.
  • Move equipment and hardware to various locations across campus.
  • Collect and maintain classroom inventory data for all AV and related components in SAIT AV spaces.
  • Help maintain AV inventory levels to ensure necessary parts and equipment are available.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of AV systems and hardware.
  • Work directly with clients, staff, and coworkers in an effective, professional, and friendly manner that promotes goodwill.
  • Work safely in closed spaces and construction areas.
  • Collaborate closely in a team environment to achieve successful results.
  • Participate in hardware and programming training.
  • Explore new AV products and services.
What you bring
  • Diploma in Broadcast Technology, Information Technology, Programming, Computer support or related technical area is an asset.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in AV support, including Crestron, Extron and Kramer Devices.
  • Experience with low voltage system wiring, including RS232 and Low-Z. Basic knowledge of how to read and follow construction diagrams and work orders.
  • Excellent knowledge of installation techniques and the related power tools.  
  • Excellent track record of working safely according to all workplace safety guidelines.
  • Familiarity with control system design (Crestron/Extron/Kramer/AMX).
  • Ability to drill into walls and slab to mount equipment.
  • Understanding of computers and networking is an asset. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
