Job Type: Contract (12+ Months)
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled GNSS Navigation Algorithm Engineer to join their engineering team in Torrance, CA. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in GNSS navigation systems, estimation theory, and embedded software development who are passionate about developing next-generation navigation solutions.
As a key contributor, you will be responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and validating advanced GNSS navigation algorithms for embedded platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative navigation products and resolve complex system-level challenges.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and optimize advanced GNSS navigation algorithms for embedded systems.
  • Apply estimation theory and navigation principles to develop robust positioning, navigation, and timing solutions.
  • Develop high-quality software using C/C++ for embedded applications.
  • Perform algorithm analysis, testing, validation, and performance optimization.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for software and algorithm designs.
  • Participate in peer reviews of software architecture, algorithm design, and code implementation.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Support new feature development and continuous improvement of navigation products.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience with GNSS navigation systems and algorithms.
  • Solid understanding of estimation theory, filtering techniques, and navigation concepts.
  • Hands-on experience developing software in C/C++ for embedded platforms.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing complex navigation algorithms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, or multi-constellation GNSS systems.
  • Knowledge of Kalman Filtering, Sensor Fusion, and Navigation/Positioning algorithms.
  • Familiarity with real-time embedded systems and software development best practices.
  • Experience in product development environments involving navigation, robotics, autonomous systems, or related technologies.
