Position Type: Full Time

Location: Brandon, FL (Home Office) – 213 Providence Road, Brandon, FL 33511

Level/Salary Range: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience

Expected Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday–Friday), with flexibility during bidding periods

Company Overview Central Site Development is a large, well-established site development and civil construction company established in 2005 located in Brandon, Florida. We specialize in multi-family, single-family residential subdivisions, and commercial developments across the greater Tampa Bay region, Central Florida, and Florida’s Central West Coast. We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team immediately and play a key role in our continued growth.

Role Summary The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for site development and civil construction projects. This critical role supports bid preparation, budget development, and cost planning from pre-construction through project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across the full scope of site development projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, attention to detail, and relationship management drive success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements, blueprints, specifications, and site conditions to develop a thorough understanding of the project.
  • Prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for site development projects (earthwork, grading, roads, subdivisions, and related infrastructure).
  • Solicit, review, and manage bids from vendors and subcontractors; negotiate pricing and terms as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and industry partners.
  • Utilize estimating software (B2W, AGTEK Gradework, AGTEK Materials, Trimble Business Center) along with CAD for efficient and accurate estimating.
  • Perform risk analysis, identify value engineering opportunities, and provide input on constructability.
  • Collaborate closely with the Estimating Assistant who gathers vendor and subcontractor quotes for integration into bid software.
  • Present estimates, budgets, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Support project handoff to the Project Management team with clear scope, assumptions, and cost breakdowns.
  • Stay current with market conditions, material pricing, labor rates, and regional construction practices.
  • Collaborate with operations, project management, and field teams on bid reviews and post-bid analysis.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience as an Estimator in site development and civil construction, with strong expertise across earthwork, grading, subdivisions, and related site work (multi-family experience strongly preferred).
  • College education in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven track record of preparing competitive bids that result in profitable projects.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in B2W Estimating software (required), along with AGTEK Gradework, AGTEK Materials, Trimble Business Center, and CAD.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Deep knowledge of site development construction means and methods, regional permitting processes, and cost drivers.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.).
  • Opportunities for professional growth in a stable, growing company.
  • Supportive team environment with modern tools and processes.
