Exciting Opportunity at MSK! Join Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Security Guard I at our NYC sites location and play a vital role in protecting patients, visitors, and staff every day.

At MSK, safety is essential to patient care. As part of our Security team, you will help maintain a secure and welcoming environment by supervising building entrances and perimeters, responding to incidents and emergencies, preparing reports, and providing assistance when needed. • Supervise building entrances, interior spaces, and exterior perimeters to ensure safety and access control

• Conduct routine patrols and remain alert to safety or security concerns

• Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and calls for assistance

• De-escalate conflicts and manage disruptive or aggressive behavior using professional judgment

• Investigate incidents and prepare clear, accurate written reports

• Operate surveillance systems and utilize digital security tools

• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and facilities teams to support hospital operations

• Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining authority and integrity

• Valid New York State Security Guard License and Fire Guard (F01) certification required for NYC (SORA certification required for NJ roles)

• Prior experience working as a Security Guard or in a related safety role

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including in outdoor and inclement weather conditions

• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency or fast paced situations

• Experience managing conflict and de-escalating challenging interactions

• Basic knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures and security best practices

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to detail incidents clearly and accurately

• Good judgment and decision-making under pressure

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail

• Professional presence with a customer service mindset

• Effective verbal and written communication

• Digital literacy and comfort using computers, surveillance systems, and reporting tools

• Ethical conduct, discretion, and confidentiality

• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment

• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments
