Job description

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Senior Accountant supporting our finance team, you will be trusted to work on analyzing and preparing financial reports related to our pharmaceutical products at the Fort Worth, TX location. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Preparing accurate and robust monthly balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations.
  • Preparing accurate journal entries in a timely manner.
  • Ongoing operational improvements made through the month to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and address business / operational changes.
  • Collaborating proactively with key partners, including Finance colleagues, internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and Regional/Global Financial Reporting and Accounting. Communication with these partners is appropriate and timely when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior accounting experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS (GAAP), accounting and financial reporting requirements. Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient ERP knowledge (SAP)
  • Confirmed Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
