Job description

Job Summary


We are looking to hire a Journeyman LEA/LEB Technician and encourage qualified candidates who hold either an Oregon or Washington Limited Energy Electrician LEA or LEB required licenses to apply. We work primarily in the Portland/Vancouver area but occasionally have jobs further out. 


The ideal candidate has strong installation, troubleshooting, system configuration, leadership, and customer service skills. You will be expected to maintain productivity and quality standards, and ensure installations are completed safely, professionally, and in compliance with applicable codes.


General Accountabilities

Install and repair data and telecom networks (fiber optics, structured cabling, phone systems).

Set up security and alarm system (burglar alarms, access control, CCTV).

Work on life-safety and audio systems (fire alarms, nurse call stations, intercoms, and paging arrays).

  • Supervise, train, and develop Apprentice-level technicians
  • Plan and execute installations while maintaining quality and productivity standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system diagrams, and product documentation
  • Install conduit, raceways, supports, and cable pathways
  • Pull, terminate, label, test, and document low-voltage cabling
  • Configure and troubleshoot cameras, access control devices, alarms, and network-connected equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve system and installation issues in the field
  • Perform basic network configuration, including device setup, switching, routing, and IP addressing
  • Train customers on system functionality and proper use
  • Communicate clearly with project managers, Foremen, customers, and other team members
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and installation records
  • Enforce company safety standards and applicable electrical and building codes
  • Own assigned projects from installation through customer handoff


Additional Requirements


  • Experience installing conduit and cable pathways
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to follow company processes, documentation requirements, and quality standards
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15 days per year throughout Oregon and Washington
  • Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and operate personnel lifts
  • Perform overhead work
  • Kneel, squat, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Perform repetitive tasks, including wire pulling, termination, and equipment installation
  • Work safely in confined spaces and elevated locations
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Work may include crawl spaces, attics, construction sites, warehouses, offices, and occupied customer facilities.

Company wires interiors and exteriors of existing structures and those in ongoing-construction phase for voice and data. Outside plant projects at all times of year; both urban and rural.
