Senior Fire Alarm Technician/Programmer

Summary:

As a Senior Fire Alarm Technician/Programmer in the Fire Protection Industry, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations by providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.


This position is open to start in either of our Las Vegas or Reno offices!


Responsibilities:


1. System Installation and Programming:

  • Install, configure, and program advanced fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, alarms, and notification devices.
  • Customize system programming to meet specific project requirements and ensure proper integration with other building systems.


2. Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform regular maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, report technical problems, execute repairs, and replace components as necessary.


3. Project Management:

  • Lead and coordinate fire alarm system installations, upgrades, and retrofits.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Guide field technicians on company systems, service offerings, and provide technical sales assistance, support, and product demonstrations on the latest company products to Sales Executives.


4. Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all systems comply with national, state, and local fire safety codes and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including system schematics, programming records, and service reports.
  • Prepare detailed reports for inspections and audits.
  • Stay current with building technology product documentation and communicate updates and design strategies to Field Technicians, Specialists, and Sales Executives


5. Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support and recommendations.
  • Conduct training for clients on system operations and maintenance.


6. Miscellaneous Tasks:

  • Travel to project sites as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • F-Card, NICET, OSHA-30, Lift, CPR and Siemens (or other) Programming Certifications (required).
  • 5+ years' experience in installing or servicing electronic control systems.
  • Proven experience in a senior or lead technician role highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary Ranges and Benefits:

  • 70k-120k DEO ($33/hr-$57/hr)
