Job description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven Fire Alarm Inspector to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will perform testing and inspection of fire-alarm systems in assigned buildings. You will help to identify and report any problems or deficiencies found in the systems you inspect. This is a customer-facing role, one that is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects. As a Fire Alarm Inspector, you will be part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

  • Test and inspect commercial fire-alarm systems within assigned buildings.
  • Identify and report problems or discrepancies found in the systems you inspect.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with all inspections and testing.
  • Interact with building owner or building engineer prior to, during, and following completion of the testing process.
  • Review reports and initiate next steps as necessary.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

 

 

What You’ll Need

  • Commitment – engages with colleagues and customers to ensure successful testing operations and complete customer satisfaction.
  • Fluent understanding of building codes and standards related to fire alarm inspections (i.e. NFPA 72, IBC, IFC)
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis. We service locations all across the great state of Alaska.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 1 year relevant field service or customer service

  • NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm
  • Hands-on experience in the commercial/ industrial/ low voltage/ electrical industry.

Preferred Experience (but not required): 

  • Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronics, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
  • State of Alaska Fire Alarm 1B license
  • Experience panel programming EST, Simplex/Autocall, Silent Knight or similar complexity.
