We are looking for a talented UNIX Systems Analyst to join our Platform Systems team and help deliver reliable, secure, and innovative UNIX services across the Rogers organization. We're seeking an individual with a passion for enterprise infrastructure technologies, a customer-focused mindset, and a desire to continuously learn and grow.

In this role, you will be responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining UNIX platforms that enable critical business applications and services. You will work closely with internal customers, vendors, and technical teams to ensure our UNIX environments remain stable, secure, and available.

As a Tier 3 escalation point, you will assist in resolving complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and help restore services quickly and effectively. This role also participates in a scheduled on-call rotation supporting critical business services and infrastructure. You will contribute to the modernization and continuous improvement of our UNIX environment through automation, process enhancements, and the adoption of current technologies and best practices.

What you'll do:

  • Build, configure, and support enterprise UNIX infrastructure that hosts critical business applications and services.
  • Provide Tier 3 support and technical escalation assistance for complex operating system and infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical UNIX infrastructure and services, responding to incidents and service disruptions as required.
  • Perform server lifecycle management activities including provisioning, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Troubleshoot operating system, infrastructure, and application-related issues while supporting service restoration and root cause analysis activities.
  • Collaborate with application teams, internal customers, vendors, and technical teams to deliver reliable infrastructure services.
  • Participate in projects requiring UNIX infrastructure expertise and provide guidance to help ensure successful delivery outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions and operational playbooks using tools such as AWX and Ansible.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, standardization, and service quality through automation and process improvements.
  • Follow established operational, security, and ITSM processes and procedures.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of UNIX services and platforms to meet current and future business requirements.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience working within an ITIL/ITSM-based operational environment.
  • Ability to participate in a scheduled on-call rotation and respond to operational incidents outside of regular business hours when required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Linux & UNIX Platforms

  • Demonstrated experience administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 7 through 10.
  • Experience supporting enterprise UNIX/Linux operating systems in production environments.

Automation & Configuration Management

  • Experience developing or maintaining automation solutions using AWX and Ansible.
  • Experience creating operational efficiencies through scripting, automation, and process improvement initiatives.

Virtualization & Infrastructure

  • Experience working with VMware ESX 7 or later.
  • Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure technologies and supporting services.

Container & Cloud-Native Technologies

  • Experience supporting or working with Red Hat OpenShift environments.
  • Understanding of modern application hosting platforms and container technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Red Hat Satellite 6.
  • Experience supporting Oracle Solaris and HP-UX operating systems and associated hardware platforms.
  • Experience with Red Hat Identity Management (IdM).
  • Knowledge of related infrastructure technologies including storage platforms, database technologies, and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience contributing to automation initiatives, operational improvements, or continuous improvement programs.
