Concrete Specialist – Shape the Foundation of New Mexico’s Commercial Infrastructure

Job Overview:

  • Company: Mick Rich Contractors.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $28 to $32 per hour.

  • Location: New Mexico (Onsite).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday.

  • Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, and Government/Federal.

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity: You will serve as a foundational craftsman for high-profile projects, including essential airport infrastructure, medical facilities and essential community schools. This role invites you to apply "Creative Complexity" to concrete finishing while benefiting from a culture that invests in your long-term career growth. You will be part of a team that has spent over forty years perfecting the art of building New Mexico.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Construct and set precise concrete forms for commercial foundations and slabs, ensuring proper alignment and grade.

  • Execute the placement and leveling of concrete surfaces using bull floats, hand trowels, and finishing machines.

  • Interpret blueprints and simple layouts to deliver structural components that meet exact project specifications.

  • Monitor the curing process and apply specialized surface treatments to protect and enhance finished concrete.

  • Perform high-quality concrete patching and defect repairs to maintain our reputation for excellence.

  • Install critical rebar supports and embeds while collaborating closely with site supervisors and field crews.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of dedicated experience in commercial concrete finishing.

  • Proven ability to read and follow blueprints and technical layout instructions.

  • Direct experience in form setting (one board high), concrete placement, and finishing techniques.

  • Proficiency in operating power trowels, finishing machines, and specialized hand tools.

  • Ability to travel to various commercial project sites as assigned, including occasional overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years of professional experience in large-scale industrial or government concrete projects.

  • Strong understanding of commercial concrete specifications and structural systems.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and high-stakes site protocols.
